The earthing chains are required to be made of pure brass wire rods of dia 1.5mm.The length of each chain shall be 9.0 meters and it shall be provided with a brass ball weight at one end and a brass clip having crocodile jaws and teeth for better grip (like battery terminal) at the other end. The brass ball shall be round in shape and shall be of 30 gms. (approximately). The weight of eachlink be 1.5 gms (approx.). The weight of complete chain shall be approx. 400gms.
